Carol Mode received her BFA at Washington University, worked for Cheekwood Museum of Art early in her career, and then taught at Belmont University before focusing solely on her painting. Mode has received artist residencies from the Christoph Merian Foundation in Basel, Switzerland; the Wurlitzer Foundation in New Mexico; the Ucross Foundation in Wyoming; and was a visiting artist at the American Academy in Rome, Italy.

Carol Mode received her BFA from Washington University.  She worked for the Cheekwood Museum of Art and taught at Belmont University before focusing on her painting full time.  Mode has received multiple awards and residencies around the world and has exhibited both nationally and internationally.   Her work has been included in exhibitions at Frontsore Gallery in Basel, Switzerland, Tinney Contemporary in Nashville, TN, the Leu Gallery at Belmont University.  Her work has also been in numerous museum exhibits including the Contemporary Gallery at Cheekwood Museum of Art, the Frist Art Museum, and the Memphis Brooks Museum.
